The project includes a training seminar for 25 civic education and history teachers from gymnasium and high school across the country, held in Sinaia from August 29 to September 3.

In the six days of non-formal activities and meetings with experts, we will address through alternative learning tools concepts related to democracy, rule of law and public participation. Later on, we will support the development and implementation of civic projects involving young people in the localities where the participants come from.

In previous editions, attended by dozens of teachers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, EFOR has implemented civic projects in over 20 localities, such as debates with local authorities (mayors, local councillors, heads of educational institutions), election simulations, world cafes on youth priorities in localities or photo voice on community issues. The aim of the projects is to increase the students’ interest in active citizenship and to involve the entire community in civic activities.

You can find out more about what we have prepared in these six days in the agenda, as well as information about the speakers from the presentation of the School for Democracy.

Partner: British Council

Today, a new edition of the School for Democracy has started, an Expert Forum program that aims to create an innovative learning environment for teachers who want to discover alternative and effective tools for educating and actively involving young people.
