Press conference and electoral assistance center

The VotCorect Coalition will hold a press conference on the 10.06 at 2pm on the results of the election monitoring. The conference will take place at 8-10 Tudor Arghezi Street, Bucharest. It will be streamed online on Expert Forum’s Facebook page and on the privesc.eu platform.

On 9 June we will publish the main findings of the regular monitoring campaign and the press releases will be available on www.votcorect.ro/comunicate.

Expert Forum is organising an Election Information and Assistance Centre for the local and European Parliament elections on 9 June 2024. Through it, election experts and lawyers will answer the most frequently asked questions about voting day and provide assistance in reporting irregularities. Those interested can call Telverde on 0800 460 002 – free of charge in Romania or 0318.222.800 – normal fare for abroad. The Call Centre will be active on 8 June from 10:00 to 18:00 and on 9 June from 6:00 to 22:00. More details about the call centre on www.votcorect.ro.

Voters who need information on the electoral process can access the platform www.votcorect.ro. The platform provides answers to the most frequently asked questions related to voting: procedures, decisions of electoral offices, rules for observation or reporting irregularities. It also contains a form where any citizen can report irregularities on voting day. Voters will be assisted in making complaints, if necessary, or will be guided in exercising their right to vote.

VotCorect coalition member organisations will monitor voting day with more than 800 independent observers accredited in Romania and abroad. The observers will be present at polling stations throughout Sunday to ensure the fairness of the elections and to collect data that will contribute to recommendations for improving the electoral process. The monitoring of the electoral process will be carried out using the VoteMonitor smartphone application developed by Code for Romania.

The VotCorect coalition is composed of Expert Forum, Centre for Civic Resources, Civica Association, Centre for the Study of Democracy, Rădăuțiul Civic and the Electoral Observatory. Code for Romania Association is developing the smartphone application. For the observation of the electoral process in the Republic of Moldova we will collaborate with Promolex Association.
